How it works
The science of staying current.
FlyCurrent turns the forgetting curve into a study plan: measure retrievability, schedule review before decay, and show the result as a score pilots can act on.
Start a sessionEach review resets your memory and lasts longer than the last.
The science
All 27 skills
Childs (1983) tested 42 pilots at 8, 16, and 24 months — every one of 27 skills deteriorated, and pilots couldn't accurately judge their own decay.
Spacing works
Distributed practice reliably improves retention across materials and time scales (Cepeda meta-analysis of 184 studies).
Testing works
Retrieval practice produces stronger long-term retention than re-reading the same material.

FSRS-5
Difficulty, stability, retrievability.
FSRS-5 models how hard an item is, how stable your memory is, and how likely you are to retrieve it today. FlyCurrent targets roughly 90% retention, so weak cards come back before they disappear.
Difficulty
Updated with every answer, timing signal, and review outcome.
Stability
Updated with every answer, timing signal, and review outcome.
Retrievability
Updated with every answer, timing signal, and review outcome.
FlyCurrent Score
One score, seven ACS categories.
The score combines your overall retrievability with category-level readiness across regulations, weather, aerodynamics, navigation, performance, systems, and aeromedical decision-making. Safety-critical deficits apply a soft penalty so emergency knowledge cannot hide behind easy strengths.
Corpus story
5,036 ACS nodes, linked together.
FlyCurrent maps questions to ACS nodes, handbook figures, and source references, creating the whole corpus of aviation knowledge, linked together, perhaps for the first time.

Study session
Answer
Work a focused card, not an endless random bank.
Signal
Mark guessing and let response time add depth-of-knowledge signal.
Adapt
The next session chooses the cards most likely to matter now.
