Maintain manufacturer’s published approach airspeed or in its absence not more than 1.3 times the stalling speed or the minimum steady flight speed in the landing configuration (VSO), +10/-5 knots with gust factor applied.
Bottom line
Generally, the landing speed is some fixed percentage of the stall speed or minimum control speed for the aircraft in the landing configuration. Use flaps, throttle, and pitch to control the glidepath and establish a stabilized approach at the recommended approach airspeed.
