ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Touch down at a proper pitch attitude, within 400 feet beyond or on the specified point, with no side drift, and with the airplane’s longitudinal axis aligned with and over the runway center/landing path.

Bottom line

Prior to touchdown, the longitudinal axis should be aligned with the runway centerline to avoid landing gear side loads. Prior to touchdown, the transition to a sideslip is made with the upwind wing lowered and opposite rudder applied to prevent a turn. A reduction in power too late causes the airplane to float down the runway.
