Procedures for: d. Night taxi operations
Bottom line
Taxiing on an unfamiliar airport can be very challenging, especially during hours of darkness or low visibility. When taxiing at night on an unfamiliar airport, a pilot may request progressive taxi instructions, which include step by step taxi routing instructions. For night operations, the position (navigation) lights should be on before engine start, along with the anti-collision lights.
