Rate and radius of turn with confined area operations.
Rate and radius of turn with confined area operations.
Bottom line
As the airspeed is increased in a constant-rate level turn, the radius of the turn increases. Intentional slips are especially useful in forced landings and in situations where obstacles need to be cleared during approaches to confined areas.
