Endorsements and Logbook Entries
To determine the applicant understands logbook entries and endorsements, can apply that knowledge, manage associated risks, demonstrate appropriate skills, and provide effective instruction.
Bottom line
FAA inspectors and designated pilot examiners rely on flight instructor recommendations for pilot applicant testing, and those recommendations are accepted as evidence of qualification for certification. It is recommended all endorsements be worded as closely as possible to those in AC 61-65, and at a minimum the flight instructor needs to cite the appropriate 14 CFR part 61 section that has been completed.
