Use electronic traffic alert systems, if available.

ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Use electronic traffic alert systems, if available.

Bottom line

Pilots should incorporate the traffic display in their normal traffic scan to provide awareness of nearby aircraft. In certain airspace, not all aircraft will be equipped with ADS-B Out or transponders and will not be visible on your ADS-B In display. Air traffic information equipment does not relieve a pilot’s regulatory responsibility to see and avoid other aircraft.
