Configure the airplane in accordance with the Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH)\Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) and existing conditions.

Bottom line

If there is a procedural discrepancy between the checklist and the AFM/POH, then the AFM/POH always takes precedence. The pilot should ensure that the flaps and landing gear are in the proper configuration for the existing situation.
