Bell completes first wings for initial pair of MV-75 Cheyenne II test aircraft
The MV-75 represents the next generation of tiltrotor technology and manufacturing efficiency; advances in composite wing construction may eventually influence commercial rotorcraft and advanced air mobility designs.
Bell has completed the assembly of two wing structures for the US Army's MV-75 Cheyenne II tiltrotor at its Amarillo, Texas, production site. The first wing was completed in February 2026 and the second in recent weeks. Bell achieved a 90% reduction in labour hours compared to V-22 Osprey wing construction on the first unit, and a further 40% reduction on the second. The MV-75 wing uses a straight structure with advanced composite materials, unlike the V-22's forward-swept wing. The wings will be mated to the fuselage, being assembled in Wichita, Kansas, as Bell builds toward a first flight expected within the next two years.
