Promptly recognize an engine failure and maintain positive aircraft control.
Promptly recognize an engine failure and maintain positive aircraft control.
Bottom line
Maintain directional control with rudder and aileron, and assume the pitch attitude for Vyse. Assume the bank angle and ball position for zero sideslip and maintain the best climb rate at Vyse. Five to 10 degrees of bank initially assists the rudder in maintaining directional control when an engine fails, as the pitch attitude for Vyse is established.
