Trimming the aircraft.

ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Trimming the aircraft.

Bottom line

If airspeed is allowed to change during trimming, the trim is not adjusted properly and altitude varies until the aircraft returns to the airspeed for which it is trimmed. To trim, apply pressure to the control surface that needs trimming, roll the trim wheel in the direction pressure is being held, then relax the pressure and monitor the primary instrument for that attitude. Trimming can be accomplished during any transitional period; however, prior to final trimming, the airspeed must be held constant.
