ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Use flight controls in the proper combination as recommended by the manufacturer, or as required to maintain best performance, and trim as required.

Bottom line

After the flaps and landing gear have been retracted and the propeller of the inoperative engine feathered, a key element in extracting best climb performance is minimizing sideslip. The ball is displaced approximately one-third to one-half toward the operative engine.
