Establish VYSE; if obstructions are present, establish best single-engine angle of climb speed (VXSE) or VMC +5 knots, whichever is greater, until obstructions are cleared. Then transition to VYSE.
Bottom line
After an engine failure after liftoff with the landing gear selected up and OEI climb performance adequate, the pitch attitude for Vyse should be assumed. The rudder and aileron should be used, aggressively if necessary, to counteract the yaw and rolling tendencies. Assume the bank angle and ball position for zero sideslip and maintain the best climb rate at Vyse.
