Immediate action items and emergency procedures.

ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Immediate action items and emergency procedures.

Bottom line

Certain immediate action items (such as a response to an engine failure in a critical phase of flight) are best committed to memory. Some situations, such as engine failures, require a pilot to respond immediately using established procedures with little time for detailed analysis. In an emergency situation, the first priority is to fly the aircraft and maintain a safe airspeed.
