Configure the airplane correctly.

ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Configure the airplane correctly.

Bottom line

When demonstrating a forward slip to a landing in an airport traffic pattern, flaps usually remain retracted. Some airplanes have limitations regarding slips, and in some cases slips are limited in duration or by fuel quantity. There may be recommendations or limitations related to slips with flaps extended, so consult the manufacturer's AFM/POH for specific airplane information.
