ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Maintain manufacturer’s published approach airspeed or in its absence not more than 1.3 VSO, +10/-5 knots with gust factor applied.

Bottom line

Use flaps, throttle, and pitch to control the glidepath and establish a stabilized approach at the recommended approach airspeed. During a stabilized approach, small changes in the airplane’s pitch attitude and power setting are needed when making corrections to the angle of descent and airspeed. An excessive amount of airspeed could result in a touchdown too far from the runway threshold or an after-landing roll that exceeds the available landing area.
