Rotate and lift off at the recommended airspeed and accelerate to VY.
Bottom line
The manufacturer’s recommended takeoff speed is necessary to provide adequate initial climb performance. A pilot should not attempt to force an aircraft to become airborne with a deficiency of speed. Best rate-of-climb speed (VY)—the airspeed that provides the most altitude gain in a given period of time.
