Collision hazards.
Collision hazards.
Bottom line
Most collisions occur during days when the weather is good. Smoke, haze, dust, rain, and flying towards the sun can greatly reduce the ability to detect targets. The pilot can contribute to collision avoidance by being alert and scanning for other aircraft, which is particularly important in the vicinity of an airport.
