ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Comply with applicable taxi elements in Task D if the practical test is conducted in an amphibious airplane.

Bottom line

Although an ATC clearance is issued for taxiing purposes, when operating in accordance with the CFRs, it is the responsibility of the pilot to avoid collision with other aircraft. When ATC issues a “hold short” clearance, you are expected to taxi up to, but not cross any part of the runway holding marking.
