ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Procedures for: a. Appropriate flight deck activities during taxiing or sailing

Bottom line

SOPs direct the pilot's attention to essential tasks while the aircraft is in motion, increasing awareness without increasing workload during taxi. All checklists should be completed while the aircraft is stopped, and there is no place for non-essential chatter or other activities while maintaining vigilance during taxi. It is mandatory to read back all runway hold short instructions verbatim.
