c. How to detect possible defects

ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Airplane preflight inspection, including: c. How to detect possible defects

Bottom line

Because of their complexity, retractable landing gear demands a close inspection prior to every flight. Habitual overloading tends to cause cumulative stress and damage that may not be detected during preflight inspections and result in structural failure later during completely normal operations.
