Approach with Loss of Primary Flight Instrument Indicators

ACS task objective

To determine the applicant exhibits satisfactory knowledge, risk management, and skills associated with performing an approach solely by reference to instruments with the loss of primary flight control instruments.

Bottom line

A warning indicator, or an inconsistency between indications on the attitude indicator and the supporting performance instruments, usually identifies system or instrument failure. Identify the failed component(s) and use the remaining functional instruments to maintain aircraft control.
