Elements related to missed approach procedures and limitations associated with standard instrument approaches, including while using a flight management system (FMS) or autopilot, if equipped.
Bottom line
When operating below MDA or upon arrival at the missed approach point, you must immediately execute an appropriate missed approach procedure if the requirements for continuing the approach are not met. The missed approach obligation continues at any time after the missed approach point until touchdown. While an autopilot is engaged, a pilot's attention should not disengage; pilots need to maintain situational awareness and appropriate focus on the progress of the flight at all times.
