ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Execute a stall recovery in accordance with procedures set forth in the Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH)/Flight Manual (FM).

Bottom line

The most important stall recovery step is to reduce the angle of attack (AOA). After reducing AOA until the stall warning is eliminated, the pilot rolls the wings level with coordinated use of the rudder and applies power as needed. Losing altitude during recovery from a stall is to be expected.
