Proper pitch control required for continuously decreasing airspeed.

ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Proper pitch control required for continuously decreasing airspeed.

Bottom line

In a descent, when the airplane is properly trimmed for hands-off straight-and-level flight, the pitch attitude is controlling the airspeed. Even a slight power reduction causes a slight airspeed decrease, which reduces down load on the tail, and the airplane's designed nose heaviness pitches the nose down just enough to maintain the trimmed airspeed.
