ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Establish the recommended approach and landing configuration, airspeed, and trim, and adjust pitch attitude and power as required to maintain a stabilized approach.

Bottom line

Use flaps, throttle, and pitch to control the glidepath and establish a stabilized approach at the recommended approach airspeed. The FAA recommends a stabilized approach concept. If there is a deviation from the desired altitude/distance target, the energy state needs to be adjusted.
