ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Establish the recommended approach and landing configuration, airspeed, and trim, and adjust pitch attitude and power as required to maintain a stabilized approach.

Bottom line

The emphasis in a short-field approach is on configuration (full flaps), a stabilized approach with a constant angle of descent, and precise airspeed control. Full flaps are used to provide the steepest approach angle. Because of the nose-down pitching moment produced with flap extension, trim is used to offset this pitching moment.
