Propeller safety.

ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Propeller safety.

Bottom line

One of the most important safety rules is to ensure there is no one near the propeller prior to starting the engine. Turning the rotating beacon ON or flashing the airplane position lights helps alert persons nearby to remain clear of the propeller. Before starting, the wheels should be chocked and the brakes set to avoid hazards caused by unintentional movement.
