External pressures.
External pressures.
Bottom line
External pressures are influences external to the flight that create a sense of pressure to complete a flight, often at the expense of safety. Someone waiting at the airport for the flight's arrival can be an external pressure. Canceling a flight is necessary if the pilot cannot mitigate risk sufficiently by other means, and the cancellation option is easier if another means of transportation is available or long-term rescheduling is an option.
