Analyze and correct common errors related to this Task.

Bottom line

A competent flight instructor teaches the multiengine learner about the critical importance of feathering the propeller in a timely manner should an actual engine failure situation ever be encountered. A windmilling propeller, in many cases, has given the improperly trained multiengine pilot the mistaken perception that the engine is still developing useful thrust, resulting in a psychological reluctance to feather, as feathering results in cessation of propeller rotation. OEI flight with the ball centered and the remaining engine providing any appreciable power is never correct due to the sideslip generated.
