d. Proper instrument cross-check techniques
Flight instruments as they relate to: d. Proper instrument cross-check techniques
Bottom line
Instrument cross-check, instrument interpretation, and aircraft control are basic habits learners should establish early in flight training. The pilot should not fixate on the airspeed indicator when making pitch changes, but should continue to scan outside to adjust the airplane's attitude in relation to the horizon. When a system or instrument failure is identified, the pilot must maintain aircraft control while identifying the failed components and expediting a cross-check of all flight instruments.
