ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Orientation during a spin, including which instrument(s) are reliable for determining the directions of spin.

Bottom line

The departure from controlled flight may be quite abrupt and possibly disorienting. When visual contact with the horizon is lost, the vestibular system becomes unreliable. The direction of an upright spin can be confirmed from the turn needle or the symbolic airplane of the turn coordinator, if necessary.
