Aerodynamics of secondary stalls.
Aerodynamics of secondary stalls.
Bottom line
Abrupt pull ups at high diving speeds may produce recurrent or secondary stalls by increasing the AOA to that of stalling. Significant load factors are sometimes induced during the pull up following stall recovery.
Key numbers
| Number | What it means |
|---|---|
| not to exceed 2 or 2.5 Gs, for a stall recovery made by diving only to cruising or design maneuvering airspeed with a gradual pull up | Load factor |
