Clean configuration demonstration: c. Continue to slow the airplane to, and maintain, an airspeed at which any further increase in angle of attack, increase in load factor, or reduction in power would result in an immediate stall, and maintain that airspeed in level flight, noting the airspeed and power setting required, while;
Bottom line
The target slow flight speed is an airspeed just above the stall warning in the desired configuration, approximately 5–10 knots above the stall speed for that flight condition. As the speed approaches the target slow flight speed, additional power will be needed to maintain altitude. At an AOA just under the AOA that may cause an aerodynamic buffet or stall warning, the flight controls are less effective, and larger control movements are necessary to retain control of the airplane.
