ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Establish the recommended approach and landing configuration, airspeed, and trim, and adjust pitch attitude and power as required to maintain a stabilized approach.

Bottom line

The airplane should be in the landing configuration by 1,000 feet AGL in the approach. Indicated airspeed should be between zero and 10 knots above the target airspeed by 500 feet AGL. Incremental deflection of flaps on downwind, base leg, and final approach allow smaller adjustments of pitch and power and support a stabilized approach.
