ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Collision hazards.

Bottom line

A collision hazard is any condition, event, or circumstance that could induce a collision or a surface accident or incident. The pilot can contribute to collision avoidance by being alert and scanning for other aircraft, particularly in the vicinity of an airport. Effective scanning uses short, regularly spaced eye movements, and each movement should be observed for at least 1 second to enable detection.
