Determine the cause for the powerplant(s) failure and if a restart is a viable option.
Determine the cause for the powerplant(s) failure and if a restart is a viable option.
Bottom line
Check to determine the cause of the engine malfunction, such as the position of fuel selectors, magneto switch, or primer. If possible, the cause of the malfunction should be corrected immediately and the engine restarted. If the flameout is due to a transitory condition, such as an imbalance between fuel flow and engine speed, an airstart may be attempted once the condition is corrected.
