ACS element text (the applicant demonstrates understanding of)

Factors and situations that could lead to an inadvertent stall, spin, and loss of control with an inflight powerplant failure.

Bottom line

Loss of control in-flight (LOC-I) is an accident caused by the pilot not maintaining control of the airplane, and many LOC-I accidents are the result of stalls, spins, or accelerated maneuvers. Attempting to stretch the glide by applying back-elevator pressure is a common error. The training risk of stall-spin accidents is normally mitigated by a briefing before simulated emergencies.
