Deteriorating weather conditions on approach.
Deteriorating weather conditions on approach.
Bottom line
A pilot may be tempted to descend below minimums during an approach in the belief that there is a built-in margin of error in every approach procedure. A thorough review of an airport's current weather conditions should always be conducted prior to initiating an instrument approach. A pilot should advise ATC immediately if he or she is unable to execute the approach or prefers another type of approach.
