Selection of a runway or approach path and touchdown area based on aircraft limitations...
Selection of a runway or approach path and touchdown area based on aircraft limitations, available distance, surface conditions, and wind.
Bottom line
Airports–Runway dimensions may not be sufficient such that a takeoff or landing can be performed safely under the given conditions. When considering the amount of runway available for use in takeoff or landing performance calculations, the declared distances published for a runway must always be used in lieu of the runway’s physical length.
