Hydraulic system–capacity, pumps, pressure, reservoirs, allowable types of fluid, and regulators.
Bottom line
A basic hydraulic system consists of a reservoir, a pump (hand, electric, or engine-driven), a filter, a selector valve, a relief valve, and an actuator. Since several types of hydraulic fluids are commonly used, an aircraft must be serviced with the type specified by the manufacturer. For the correct hydraulic fluid type, refer to the AFM/POH or the Maintenance Manual.
